An important question for XJet channel subscribers
UPDATE:
I went to the YT Partner sign-up page: http://www.youtube.com/partners and attempted to apply for partnership status but guess what?
New Zealand isn’t on the list of qualifying countries.
But… the strange thing is that there *are* many NZ YouTube partner channels and some of them have nowhere near the subscribers, views or original content that this channel contains. eg: http://www.youtube.com/user/monmummy
What’s going on I wonder?

Okay folks, my RC model plane and jet engine videos have now been seen over six million times, which is quite a lot. If I had a single cent for each of those times well I’d be a happy man!
However, YouTube doesn’t pay you unless you’re a “Youtube Partner” and allow them to place advertising along the bottom of your videos for the first 20 seconds or so.
Personally, I’m not a fan of these ads and I find them annoying but… I would sure like to earn a few pesos to help cover the time, effort (and sometimes money) I put into making these videos so I need to ask subscribers if they would find these ads objectionable or not.
If too many folks say “no ads” then I’ll drop the idea. I value my subscriber list and won’t jeopardize it by too many people off unnecessarily.
So, have your say — if you’re a subscriber then the decision is yours.

Yes, yes, YES, do it. Get as much money out of YouTube and Google as possible. Most of the other video channels I subscribe to such as RCPowers and NightFlyyer already have the banner ads.

Go for it xjet. Most of the channels I subscribe to have ads and I don’t mind the tiny inconvenience if clicking the X to close them. The only bad news for you is that being a YT partner won’t bring gobs of cash flooding your way. I’ve watched a LOT of videos and never once have I clicked on a banner ad. Same goes for website banner ads. I’m sure most YT viewers are the same. You’d be lucky to get one click per 100,000 views on average.
