How long does it take to beat a video game?
Being a recent subscriber to Gamefly, I want to know how long it takes to beat individual games. No typical gaming site lists how long it takes to beat a specific game, so is there some site that compiles these statistics?
Since somebody said "this question doesn’t make sense," here’s the basic inquiry: Where can I find out how long it takes (on average) to beat a specific video game.
i actually have a really easy answer for this if you go to http://www.xbox360achievements.org/ and in the achievements of the games they will a guide tab for most games and it tells you how long it would take to acquire them so that is probably the best you can do. make sure you look at the roadmap for achievements bcause that is where it is found and you have to click on it to see it.

some reviews will say something like "60$ is definately worth a 100 hour long game" or something like that otherwise, itll be hard to find a site specific to that

Most games will take about 4 days to beat like I beat Halo 3, Gears of War, and Fable all around 4 days of major gaming

Well it depends on the game. it could be anywhere between 3 hours and over a hundred hours. please specify on the game.

how long does it take to cook a meal? well are you making toast so a roast?(rhyme not intended)
it kinda depends on how long the game is, how much you actually play, how good you are, and what you focus on, id have to say an avg time would be 12 hours (that’s plot only) but if you are a slow player or if its like an rpg and you want to get all the rares it can take 3 times that, just look up the game b4 u rent and decide if you think you can beat it in that amount of time(or re-rent it)
if you go to a review site like ign they probably have an avg time, but its not very exact

The only way to find out how long it takes on average is to survey the players and find out how long it took them. since there are too many games and too many players, nobody is going to do this. I suppose they could get a sample size to represent the population, but it really depends on the gamer. If they’re intelligent and play a lot of games, it probably won’t take too long, but then others it could take weeks. I would just go by what interests me. Of course its upsetting to play in interesting game and find out its short and wack, but at least you have gamefly, and didn’t buy it.

To find how much time other people spent on a video game:
1. go to gamespot.com
2. search the game you’re interested in
3. look at the right side of the game’s page for the player reviews
4. each player review says how much time that person spent on the game
there are a lot of player reviews, and everyone spends a different amount of time on games. but this might give you an idea of how much time you can get out of a game.
